Great place for family meals as there's something for everyone on the menu! And no one's not complaining that thy can't find anything to eat here. First timer and the menu is overwhelming but love the varies options! Breakfast all day. Typical diner food, burgers & sandwiches. They ran out of kids Mac and cheese! Must have been a popular item. Their tri tip was surprisingly good! I would get it again. Staff is really nice and friendly. Huge place- lots of seating. Be aware of the park in lot like anywhere else. Never leave valuables in the car. This place is 24 hours and def vet affordable! We were too hungry to take a photo! But can't wait to come back to try more items.

This was not bad for a diner open 24/7. Which is nice ! I got a country fried steak came with 2 biscuits and however you like your eggs and I also chose hashbrown. It was good! Very big portion I was able to save for the next day. They had coloring pages for the kids and a kids menu also comes with desert either strawberries and whip cream or a mini vanilla sundae. Hubby got a nice looking burger and some onion rings . Everything was pretty good!

The server was great, very attentive and helpful when it came to asking her about nuts within a sauce. I was curious if their pesto was nut based or not and she checked for me, it was nut free. I ordered the blackened pesto salmon, the seasoning on the food was fine but my only problem was how dry the salmon was, definitely needed extra sauce on the side or water to wash it down. My partner had the chicken fried steak omelette, his omelette tasted pretty good, we just weren't a fan of the potatoes really. But the portions on the plate were big so that's nice at least. The portions for the price was very nice, bill didn't come out to too much.

The Black Bear Diner in Hayward on Hesperian appears, to all intents and purposes, to be your standard Black Bear Diner. This one happens to be open 24 hours and, open on Christmas Day. To begin with, they were busy, but not overly so, and I was seated in under ten minutes. All the wait staff were decked out in Christmas-y sweaters, which gave things a festive air. My waitress, Jazmin, was possibly the best waitress I've encountered in I don't know when. She was friendly, attentive and beyond helpful. The Christmas specials, like the Thanksgiving ones, were turkey, ham or prime rib, with all the trimmings. I opted for prime rib this go-round, requesting it as rare as I could get it, attempting to avoid the dreaded well-done version. I opted for salad rather than soup. The salad is nice. As with most things Black Bear, it was large, with a good assortment of carrot shreds, cucumber slices and cherry tomatoes. Choice of dressing. Mid-salad, my entrée arrived, unfortunately, on its way to medium well, but I figured what the heck. Prime rib is often a crap shoot anyway. Jazmin appeared almost immediately, asking if things were okay. I did point out that the meat was definitely not rare. She said that with prime rib, it's almost always medium rare, to which I pointed out that this was well on its way to well done, but it looked edible, so I wasn't going quibble. She immediately offered to have it remade (Goodness!). Asking if she wouldn't mind, she whisked my plate away, while I went back to work on my salad. Within about 10 minutes, one of the kitchen workers came out with my new plate, explaining apologetically that it was as pink as he could get. It was darned near perfect, and I told him so. Jazmin came by shortly thereafter as well to double check, and bring me the corn muffin. Speaking of corn muffins, they can be so disappointing, but not this one. Still warm, soft, sweet and delicious. What Black Bear Diner is generally known for is down home American food and lots of it. My Christmas dinner consisted of salad (or soup), a decent piece of prime rib (or turkey or ham), mashed red-skinned potatoes with gravy, cornbread stuffing, green beans, a corn muffin and a slice of pumpkin pie. Including a soft drink, the total came to $40.00, pretty decent for a Christmas meal. Breakfasts there are also huge, as are their desserts. I had my pie packed to go and will snack on it later. What truly impressed me was the willingness to make sure that everything was to my liking, including the offer to remake the plate. I never ask for that, but took them up on the offer. Jazmin was attentive without be either overbearing or missing in action. This is an establishment I would recommend to others and one I will return to.

Hi everyone, I'm Erick with stoneitup in San Leandro, your local Tile installer, bilingual & very handy. Well BLACK BEAR DINER is definitely one of my family dinner spots, it's usually 3 of us but it's a comfy number for dinning out. Service for us has always been splendid but only sometimes they get really busy on Saturdays & Sundays so you may need to entertain your table for a few extra minutes, totally worth the wait. Ive had my little stuffy black bear dangling from my signal light turner for 10 plus years, love it, we once went to pebble beach and stopped at a BLACKBEAR , he's still with mE.

The food was amazing. I had the omelette and it was so good!! I went thanksgiving day and as you can imagine it was packed. They did take a while to get us a table and to get us the food. The service was great but it was a bit long. I will say this location is a lot cheaper than the other locations I been to in the Bay Area. The ambiance is like any other dining, I enjoy it and it's calm and homey.
